I now have this complete aversion to John Green's very name. I started by giving The Fault in our Stars, two stars, but after thinking more and seeing how other people praised it far more than it deserved I bumped it down to one star. Isn't that awful? The fact that people overrate it made me hate it even more.

Hahaha! I frequently have the same reaction. I am now in charge of the new YA book club at the library (the irony!) and this is March's book. Imagine the Fault in Our Stars without cancer and more stupid. Yeah.
That...IS irony! I hope you are leading those kids in the paths they should go. Do you ever get to choose a book? Can you at least offer snarky comments like, "Not enough cancer and even more stupid?" Annie read this one, TFIOS, and Looking (or Searching..I can never remember) for Alaska. She said the latter was the only remotely palatable one, but she agreed that An Abundance of Katherines was pretty wretched.
