Second story left me with more questions. Side character's (Kitaru) way of thinking in terms of treating a girlfriend seemed odd at first. Near the end, I wished the author revealed Kitaru's reasons for acting that way. The protagonist and I shared the same opinion. He didn't feel important since his (love) life wasn't discussed in depth. Felt like he was there to provide both sides of the relationship to the reader.

"Kino" i really liked this one. don't think i can explain why but my favorite story so far. it wasn't very dramatic as the others were yet i couldn't stop reading it. only by the end of the chapter i realised what it truly was about. could somewhat (loosely) be relatable if u look at it from a certain pov. i'm starting to appreciate the author for keeping my questions regarding anything in this book unanswered.

I feel like I don't understand the message the author is trying to convey. But this book contains a lot of cheating. Safe to say, it's a Japanese book after all. Well-organized man dates multiple married woman at once only to find out he fell in love with one of them. Woman was unfaithful to him so man starved himself to death. Is it that I can't empathize with the man because our views on love are too different?

Read it on the train. First story out of seven is relatable since it covers infidelity. I like the short story format. Book is able to broaden my perspective on the matter. Through two characters getting to know each other in a car ride, we get to relive an experience of the main character as he's telling it. Story was so compelling that I wanted to keep on reading. An open ending I enjoyed.
