General query - If you had the opportunity to meet any two living authors, which would you choose (and why)?
My choices would be Penelope Lively and Percival Everett. I have the feeling that both are extremely intelligent and interesting people, and I can't imagine that I'd be bored during any time I spent with them. Whether they might be bored by me is another story.

I haven't read any of his books, but I know that he writes in different genres. I wonder if he might respond to that comment as Percival Everett has when people try to place his work in a genre pigeonhole - I write fiction.
Why did you choose Marlon James?

He is one of the few writers I follow past their work and he seems like an interesting guy to talk to.
I also follow Neil Gaiman, it would be interesting to meet him as well.
Neil Gaiman is another author I haven't read. What would you like to talk about with Mr. James and Mr. Gaiman?I think that if I had the opportunity to speak with Penelope Lively or Percival Everett, I'd try to keep literature and writing in the background and listen to them talk about their other interests. I'd do my best to participate.
I can think of loads of non-living authors I’d like to meet. Mikhail Bulgakov and José Saramago immediately come to mind. For living authors I’d like to meet Anne Tyler and Garrison Keillor. (And my wife says she’d like to meet Chelsea Handler.)😁
