Well, now he's kneecapping a 7-year-old boy. I can't believe this.

Freedom has a price, and it can be ugly.

I feel like this is the whole message of the book. However, it would have been better just to tweet this sentiment, or something.

Leave Tong to take the heat. Disavow and deny. Or...

Or I can play this like Bogart.

Oh, for crying out loud, would you STOP being so macho for five minutes?! Jeez Louise...

Devlin hesitated, then stepped inside, smoothly moving into an isosceles stance, ready to go for his knife...

STOP trying to kill the hotel staff for no reason, you jumped-up sorry excuse for an assassin!

...The best lack all conviction, while the worst are full of passionate intensity..."

Maya started at him. His delivery of the poem was strong. Earthy. Passionate. And the allusions and parallels were unmistakable. As was his intent. He was reaching back into the past, evoking a narrative, a parable, in order to make sense of the present and future.

BULLSHIT!

Her grip was frail, her skin cold and clammy. A sure sign of psychological tension. Yeah, you could fake appearances, but you couldn't fake skin-to-skin contact.

This book is so boring! It's not a story, it's just like Ling is stringing along little bits of textbook knowledge that he thinks are interesting.

Mercifully, Devlin didn't pick up on anything. Which was just as well. He abhorred the idea of liquidating someone he had just met.

What is going on!?!?! This book is so needlessly dramatic that it's almost funny. Killing a poor little hotel clerk would be nothing more than a sign of your itchy trigger finger and paranoia, Devlin.

To turn back now because of hardship, because of cowardice, would be absurd. Why couldn't his wife understand that? This wasn't about them. This wasn't about their marriage. This was a about something greater and purer and - "

I'm not listening to any of this shit. You need to take your wife's feelings and opinions into account. Be a man, for fuck's sake.

"Sir, no one is ever safe from fanatics when a flashpoint is involved."

"A... what?"

"A flashpoint. It's a term used to refer..."

Blah blah blah what is this, a textbook?

I don't care what his Myers=Briggs profile is. What does that have to do with anything?
