am i wrong to be sensing ~something~ between sigrud and shara? it's like they're telepathically connected

i thought sanderson's mistwraiths were creepy... but the mhovost's description is making me want to curl up and purge my memory of it.
nasty little thing.

i like sigrud. he hasn't uttered a single word yet and still has the other characters shaking in their boots. a proper badass. unrelated, i love the idea of a 'steampunk fantasy'. it's sublime. too bad i haven't read a single book that lives up to how iconic the genre sounds in theory. but so far 'city of stairs' seems promising and i think it might just break that streak.

"This is who they send? This tiny, plain girl with the too-high voice? What could she possibly hope to accomplish in this endlessly hostile, endlessly suspicious place? Could she even last the night?"
