Oooh... this is such an unexpectedly lovely book. It isn't all new or anything, but I think the fact that it's based on actual events helps to add something extra to it. That and lovely writing. Nothing fancy (thank goodness), but clear, true, and just lovely.

Okay... I think I see where this is going. It's odd because it's based on reality, so it won't necessarily follow a story pattern. But it's only based, so it will. But it won't. EEEK. It's good, though. Loving it.

So far, I don't know anything about letters or anything, but I am really enjoying the book. It's well-written, it shows multiple facets of the Germans in France (I always fear they'll show every German as a mini-Hitler. Those who do lose depth of story.), and the characters endear me. I suspect the latest "warning" may include lies. I hope so.
