So far a bit pretentious for my taste. The purposeful excessive use of obscure words is distracting from the narrative. I'm not one to cry elitism, in fact I'm rather humbled by those with impressive intelligence. But uncommon vernacular can more often usurp the story at hand, a betrayal of word choice.
