Great retelling of the Skookum Expedition and the chapter on Rocky Bounds and his encounters and sighting of the male and juvenile. Rick Noll is an awesome researcher and deserves a lot of credit, but Powell is also understated in his idea. The distraction techniques are important to remember but at a time like that, I’m surprised Rocky didn’t look at the two screaming behind him.

Great stories in the Dance Hall Days chapter along with that story about Carol meeting a group and the juvenile’s physical contact. I struggle to actually believe it but it’s a fantastic encounter of habituation if it’s real.

Good wrap up concluding the International Zoological Society needs a body to constitute proof of bigfoot. The cybersleuthing chapter is pretty funny in its datedness but I like the rationale behind sighting reports. Makes me wanna get back out there!

Good overview on the then-state of hair and DNA analysis. A bit outdated now but a lot of it still holds true and is fascinating to review.

After Shady Neighbors, I had to come back to The Locals! It’s been 7 years and I think I’ll read Edges of Science after this.
