I’m confused on how he knew she was a virgin, I thought they were referring to something her surgery changed about her body? Didn’t make sense. This narrator seems to be good when he’s angry monologuing lol. The fight was good at some parts but I wished he stopped saying “sunshine”. He kinda ate with that last line though

I’ve gotten farther now in this book than when I read it before and I just wish I was liking it more. Josh annoys me. I like Nastya’s narration, but his is so “I am a man so I think like this”. He talks about feeling emasculated every time he shows emotion or Nastya calls him out on his bs

Now that I’ve skipped around so much I’ve slowed down on my reading pace of this book-I’m considering just putting it on 1.25x speed though and just going for it.

First off, I love Margot, she does have a giant role so far, but she is nice and outgoing when she is present in the book. Also, I like the book. Nastya is growing on me a bit more as I get to understand her character. She isn’t always mean, and her bitter sense of humor can be right up my alley sometimes. The remarks make me smirk. That’s the best word for it.

I think I like the book? I think I do. Josh is confusing….he does something nice like driver Nastya home or takes care of her while she drunk but is verbally curt and rude. Nastya is also confusing. She says she wants to not be observed and she’s cautious and anxious, but also reckless and went out and got black out drunk at a party with some guy she barely knows? They’re both kinda unpredictable.

She does talk?? I can’t that I believe I didn’t figure it out sooner. This makes her slightly less annoying. I guess I just find the “I’m so damaged no one loves me I’ve been through a terrible trauma that I won’t tell you about till later in the book” trope when it’s in first person narration. But if she’s mute (is that the word for it?) that makes more sense why she doesn’t answer questions.

I wanna like this dude Josh, but damn, he just said Nastya looked like an “undead hore”. Not a great first impression to the readers. Sure, she would probably agree with the statement, and it is a book, so I guess I don’t really know how awful she looks. I’m also kinda still confused about the reasoning behind her outfits. If she wants to not be noticed it would make more sense to wear average clothes.
