This was good reading - the author did a lot of work in researching the times. Great detail in creating the countryside, building up the characters and making the whole story believable. I did get caught up in it and loved how real it all seemed. Great imagery and loved the ending. Other stories I've read about this era ring true to this book. Hard to believe people still deal in human trafficking to this day.
