Was about to DNF after the "can you get me a password" to the random security guard. And what's Jay's last name? When did Jamie give Claire a last name for Jay? Did Claire just go to the police departments and say Jay is missing in Antarctica? I'm sorry but my BS meter has officially exploded.

Now I'm only listening to see if Jamie gets fired and ends up alone because, frankly, that's what she deserves.

I had to put it away. I might go back because I'm so close to finishing it but, to me, Jamie is an awful person and Paul isn't much better. I don't see how Claire could ever forgive Jamie at this point.

If there's immediate - or close to it - forgiveness given, I might be a little mad. This is a lot of big lying. It's making me have a difficult time liking Jamie.

Kaitlyn Oooh, yeah! I remember this being utterly ridiculous and well past the point of believable or plausible 😂

Cheri I made it another couple of minutes and rage quit.

Kaitlyn Yeah, I'm pretty sure if I reread that one now, I wouldn't be giving it 4 stars 🤭

Cheri I'm like that a lot with wlw romances. Sometimes I'm really forgiving on things that other times will absolutely kill a book for me.

Kaitlyn Same here. I'm also less forgiving now that I was a year ago 😅 and seem to be less and less forgiving these days

Cheri I now cringe at some of the stuff I read and rated 5 stars 10 years ago. The quality is so much better now. Usually... :-)

Kaitlyn 💯 (though I'm not sure I completely agree on quality of late! 🙃) I am thankful for my higher standards and continually increasing willingness to DNF 😅

It's a freeing thing, to give yourself permission to quit a shitty read. Too many good books out there to waste time.
