To stretch my creative muscle, I dedicate time to an activity that eliminates outside noise and forces me to focus on the moment. For me, that activity is exercise. I don't work out in a gym--that's too easy instead, I work out in my surroundings, mainly, the city streets where I live in Portland, Oregon.
