New Mexico savages but they’re just normal people

The book could have easily started the story in media res with Bernard and Lenina and then just slowly revealed the information about the eggs process, soma, and conditioning instead of dedicating the first couple chapters to painfully heard to read info dump descriptions of every aspect of the world via the director and tour guide

How does soma work. They get high enough to form romantic connection but not emotional connection but they won’t fuck but what? Also wouldn’t constantly taking soma just slowly kill you I mean it’s a fucking drug
