Who would say that the main site where the factions confronted themselves (and in most cities the heart as well as the only place where they existed) was the theatre and not the hippodrome? It seems that the merge between these two activities in a guild under imperial control was the cause for the apparent outbreak of hostility between the Greens and the Blues in the 5th century. I'm quite impressed.
