Kevin de Ataíde’s Reviews > Oil Painting Essentials: Mastering Portraits, Figures, Still Lifes, Landscapes, and Interiors > Status Update

I do like this discourse on landscape painting, with its focus on what he calls the Drama of Light, and the dynamics of light, and the use of shadow in pictorial storytelling.

And still-life. Still my favourite of the lot.

Figure painting.

Basic principles, concept and practice.

Plenty of good advice so far in a short format. And the subject matter is so general, that you needn't even get stuck into messy oil painting. Many contemporary artists can use this book for digital painting.
