Alright, so I love the end papers of my edition. Whoever designed the book did a brilliant job in making sure we don't forget the soldiers that participated in this battle. The front end papers have the Canadian soldiers and the back end papers have the Generals and other officers who led them to battle on the back. Loved that they included that in these old editions.

It's funny and cute when you write an update when you're on page 0 or 1 and seem to be very motivated :)

In all seriousness, though, I have had experience with Pierre Berton's works, so I know that I will like Vimy. He was a very well renowned Canadian historian. My favourite books are the ones he did about the War of 1812, but I haven't read these in ages even though I still have them on my shelves. Hopefully your reading is going okay! I saw your comment on another book I was reading but lost it in my notifications. I'll have to go through and send you a response- either that or send you a PM. I do miss our conversations. :)

Well, I don't know why junk books often have a statistically significant advantage over good books in terms of the cover pages. I said this generally, not about Vimy.
I hope you'll like it. It's interesting that we both like historical non-fictions as well as historical fictions. Anyway, I have been gathering ideas for writing some stories during past months. However, I still haven't decided in which format I want to write. Maybe short stories or plays are better choices; At least if they fail, you won't lose much. However, if they succeed, you won't get much as well. The funny thing is that about 70% of ideas and plots I wrote end up in suicide. Well, that seems like a blind chance. By the way, have you watched Kieslowski's Blind Chance? It was an interesting movie. The endings were different, but each time he was trapped in a woman's claws. Maybe this was his definition of blind chance, because this was the most prominent common point of the three endings. Today I went to watch theater and after so much time, I watched a play which you can call nearly perfect. The director, producer, designer, translator and the only actor was the same person. It was an experimental theater (avant-garde theater). The audience had to roar like a tiger at some points! Funny and comic! At the same time, it had some caustic humor towards some political issues. Oh! You had to be here and watch it! However, it had many elements from Iranian culture which you couldn't probably understand. The actor/translator translated it from a play written by Dario Fo, but he also added some Iranian elements to it. This is how an excellent translator should do. Fortunately, translation industry in our country is good. However, many books aren't translated to Persian. Reading literature on English is still a little difficult to me unlike science. Currently, I am aiming to reduce the size of my currently-reading shelf. I have opened many books without finishing them. However, I'm still opening new books. But I'm not going to open a new one before closing the last one. Ah! Your notifications! You've had problems with them and your email notifications since more than a year ago. Anyway, glad to see you're not on hiatus anymore (unless if you have fallen in hiatus instead of being on it). After all, if you miss the conversations, you can always write to me; It won't cost you an arm and a leg :).
