I dunno if this could have been presented & composed in a more 'understandable' way. Maybe a chronological order, or breakdown of The Who and the What. Feels like I just got dumped right in the thicket of all the turmoil and have no clue, still, of who is who and from where and why they are doing what they do. Clearly a complex thing, just wonder if it could be presented in way that a reader can actually understand.

Painful stuff, and Sudan is now in “Round One” (as the author has recently been quoted as saying) of its Civil War…

Thought this would just be depressingly about humans dying from hunger caused by drought & famine. It is about that, but much more a political science book, showing the dire need for schools & education to bring about conciliation and wise policies, settlements & agreements. But so much tribal strife stuff going on, histories of bad blood, of bitter divisions

Complex, hard to follow, the writer kinda has to jam pack info bc it’s all so complicated (and foreign), a reality that I’m thankfully removed from, all the war, and the tribes, and it all just seems like an impossible knot
