The Goodreads summary describes the book well. I enjoyed descriptions of the social events around quilt making and how not only women but also men had sewing skills. Both men and women were highly skilled over a wide area of crafts.

Had to return since there was a hold on it at the library. Now have my own copy and will continue later.
