I like how from the beginning we are told that this isn’t going to be like other pandemic books where we’re told about the cure and how the day was saved. But will go more in depth about what happened in the city of Memphis, we are getting to know more about the characters and their struggles

Its weird how there weren't many accounts of Bob Church in the book, even though it is explained why, I wonder why no one thought of saving important documents, letters, newspapers, etc. involving him. And how he ended up being one of the riches black people by the beginning of the 1900's after all of the struggles during the pandemic

It is interesting how the some of the doctors are considered experienced and inexperienced in the “battlefield” when treating the fever. And how supportive and mean surrounding cities or even their own towns people can be to one another during the pandemic

I like how it’s now going in depth of how everyone reacted almost day by day or week by week before the yellow jacket hit or while it was affecting most of the population. And how even though most of the mosquitos only had 50 yards of flying range they were able to spread everywhere
