I have NEVER heard of this book, but apparently it is a classic, with a huge fan base and discussion forums. Annoying to have to read it in French, especially as it's massive, but that's the copy which has been hidden on our bookshelves until last night!

At least you've HEARD of it! I couldn't believe Pascal had it (but gave up on reading it) and Timothé and he were discussing it knowledgeablely. I'm the literary person in this family, guys!
I know nothing about it apart from that it has a cult following and that the copy that’s probably been in my local shop for decades looks really forbidding!
