picked this up cause I just started getting into Joan Didion’s essays and had no idea what to expect plot or style-wise. Still don’t and was tempted to put this down except I haven’t finished a book in months, am in the middle of like 4 essay collections, & for the first time in my life, chronically reading non-fiction. Which is to say my palette is starved for a novel.
