Wow. I’ve never seen this topic explored in fiction; Lena’s process of desexualizing and infantilizing her husband once she becomes his caregiver after the gunshot. How much that weights on Francis and how he can’t do anything about it. How he feels like a child for having needs for touch. . . his disability has destroyed this part of his life. This is a lot to process.

I feel similar about Kate and Peter to how I felt about Conall and Marianne (whatever their names are, I can’t remember) from Normal People. . . which is not good, let’s put it that way. Hopefully this will change as the book progresses
