A confused and confusing read, this novel feels like several short stories fairly randomly butted up against each other, with the boy meets and pursues girl thread ( Claude and Ariadne) mixed in with celtic tiger banking crises and the very strange dynamic of Paul (failed novelist, failed husband, failed entrepreneurs), Clizia ( put upon , cheating wife), Remington (feral, neglected child) and Igor ( too strange ).
