I’m really struggling to get through this one. Loved Homegoing and heard such good things about this novel, but man, it’s so flat.

It is flat--flat and undeveloped. As someone who disliked this book, I'll say that if you feel the need to abandon it, go for it because it isn't a loss.

Agreed. I ended up finishing it today just because it’s a quick read, but it never really came together for me. Big “meh” (I feel awful saying that considering the serious/tragic themes).
