At this part in the book, the narrator (Kitty's mom) has done more research on anorexia and the different treatment methods. She and her husband have decided on FBT (family-based therapy), and made a plan with Kitty's pediatrician and psychiatrist.

Kitty has just been admitted to the hospital. For the first time, she ate everything someone told her to, and she showed her vulnerability more. Her parents saw how brave she is and how much pain she has been in.

The narrator, Kitty's mom is figuring out something is wrong with her daughter, but she doesn't know what yet.
