I couldn't do it. Reading this felt like a chore. There were glimpses of great stuff in here, but always bogged down by minutia and narrative tire-spinning. I've now quit two books (by celebrated authors) in a row. The old me would've fought through them, but I'm getting too close dying to keep up that habit.
