Why would she and Birk just blindly accept John's story? Especially with their logic training Why keep the anomaly musician when you kill a whole pod of usefully for air? If you're that desperate for air why waste time on thally?!

2 problems with this book. Why would a society concerned with eliminating emotion need a musician? The whole dystopian/Bible cross over doesn't seem to be working.
