I received this book as an ARC and was excited to read it. It’s about a country and culture I’m not very familiar with; about family, inheritance, loss and trying to separate oneself from one’s origins. For three-quarters of the book I struggled through, but I finally had to admit defeat. There are beautiful sentences, there is interesting and evocative imagery. But it’s rambling and badly needs a glossary.
