"It is intriguing that such a crude manipulation—namely, using a drug that reduces the number of cells in the limb bud—does not produce a chaotic limb" (it produced animals missing toes in patterns consistently consistent with occurrence of this phenomenon in nature) Ok, this is very intriguing. "We will come to see that evolution is not omnipotent" contra just a page earlier "We can begin to sense the folly of maintaining a wall of separation between evolution and development. Such a wall cannot be sustained because development itself evolves". Just a bit weird. So far it definitely doesn't present anything super revolutionary, just this kind of strange rhetoric. Some day I will learn my lesson wrt popsci..
