I don't know if I can finish this. I was recommended this on the basis of loving 'my year of rest of relaxation', another book with a vapid/ironic narrator wandering about saying seemingly profound but really quite shallow things (very red scare), but the tone of the Happy Hour narrator is quite insufferable and I really don't want to pick this book up again, so I think this is it.
