I don't think I'm going to finish this book. I absolutely loved the movie and assumed that the book would be even better, but I have been fighting to try to finish it, and I think I'm just ready to be done with it. All the magical beautiful things that I loved in the movie are either nonexistent in the book, or so dredged down by cynicism and fear that it just leeches all the joy out of it.
