Asking every players intention before each round, group initiative rolls, and encounter reaction rolls.. these seem to lend themselves to some easy to guide encounters, but kinda don't seem that flexible for RP.

Itching to get back into some Table Top RPG's.
I never really paid any attention to the D&D "Basic" line of material.
Holmes (1977), Moldvay/Cook (B/X 1981) , Mentzner (BECMI 1983).... none of them.
I fell for the "Basic" vs "Advanced" D&D ego trap. An old room mate and I accidentally swapped our RPG book collections, too many years ago to matter. His collection was rich in the BECMI line of books, so lets dive in
