"Among my other notes from the same period I find these daydream-ing questions that I thought profound at the time. "How many diagonals does a polygon of n sides have?" (I haven't the faintest idea, but it is a respectable, though, if memory serves, elementary combina-torial question; a discussion of it can surely be found in anyone of the proliferating books on the subject.)"

I'm taking it's a good sign when the preface excites you, or in this case, the Overture.
(Why is it also 200 pages and not 400?)

Yumeko (blushes) This is so sweet to read, he's very relatable. I catch onto anything like it, and I'm glad he gives me much to work with. This paragraph for example, a problem that I learned and told all my friends about around the same age when he wrote it down in his little notebook. I believe as long as you define the answer to not include overlapping diagonals, and to only draw diagonals from non adjacent nodes, the answer would be n-3. So a hexagon would have 3 diagonals and a decagon 7. Such a wonderful book.
