They are brought together by the caring and friendly Pinocchio, to save Prestor John, Lazuli's father, and Geppetto. The group is swallowed by "Mother" the gigantic sea monster, and they meet the Gragls, who live inside her.

A very unusual remake of Pinocchio. There are many of the original characters and of course some new ones. Pinocchio is a wooden automa, but he is changed into a real boy, by a much different way from the original story. There's a floating palace of Venice's wicked emperor, Princess Lazuli, with blue hair, and her father who is an immortal, from the kingdom of Abaton, Maestro the cricket, and a sea creature.
