I got this book in an Unplugged box so I didn’t read the summary and probably had unfair expectations based on the author’s award and back blurb. I was expecting a horror and halfway through, that’s not what I’m getting. I’m finding the book a bit difficult to get through. I’be also lived where it’s set and a lot doesn’t ring true. Melody catching a bus, not living on the reservation, & ICWA.
