What a thought, and true in some ways.We'll never know exactly how our own mothers felt about us. And my mom and grandmother occasionally pampered me when our daughters were young.
And I think we do this to some extent with our life partners. Fortunately, unlike young children, the can communicate.
Powerful quote, Candi! I was just working on my review of Beloved and talking about how deep the love of a mother for a daughter can be. That flip-side can be applied there, too. It also puts into perspective all the mothers who overly and desperately rely on their daughters for love and caretaking, gives me more compassion…
