Great story about moral disillusionment with the idea of progress. The fight scene over sugar was great . Also Makola was the goat. Will take a break a break from this book now before I read hearts of darkness.

Finished the secret sharer.
The lines “our hands met gropingly, lingered United in a steady, motionless clasp for a second…no word was breathed by either of us when they separated.” On page 66 is gay.
Anyways I love the doppelgänger story. Very psychological.

Finished youth. Less focus on literal character depth and more focus on the characters journey metaphorically via the way the language of the ship and the protagonists journey is described.
