In beginning of the book Greg decides to come up with a program to help Rodrick be a better person. The program was called "Three Strike An Your Out" the ides was whenever he saw Rodrick mess up he would mark an x on his chart. He got all three strikes before Greg had the chance to know what "Your out" meant.

Greg was digging a hole and his mom didn't like that idea so she gave him 20 reasons not to dig a hole.Greg quit going to Rowleys house every day because of Fregley. Fregley was spending alot of time in his front yard and he lives right next to Rowley. Greg made up a strategy for when he goes to Rowleys not to make eye to eye contact with Fregley.
