So far, this is a relatively casual exploration of Job that echoes traditional scholarship. Kaiser doesn’t seem to be able to admit that an evidently patriarchal setting might not entail a patriarchal date of composition. There are some insights and departures from traditional conventions. I enjoy Kaiser’s writing, and I’m sure the original lectures were very enjoyable and instructive as well.
