Nor would a town of 975 have a McDonald's. Not unless it's on the Interstate in a town of almost 9,000. The Interstate where the sections from Dallas and Fort Worth join up again to go on to Waco, Austin and points south...

Pop.: 975 Why would a "Home Cheapo" build a store there? We couldn't get one in our twice as big town. They couldn't get one in Childress, even, pop. 6,000 (!) with a class AA high school.

Population 975. Then where in blazes are they getting any lattes? I lived 8 years in a town of 1,800, and there were no lattes anywhere, including the Dairy Queen. Not that anybody would have drunk a latte anyway, or paid $4 for one. Real cowboys are cheap.

Where in blazes is this town?? Now it's November and she's still wearing a sleeveless sundress. I guess it could be down in the lower Rio Grande valley... but in that case, where are all the Hispanics? We don't wear sleeveless in November on the coast...

Also, crabgrass isn't a problem in most of the state, tho it was in the panhandle. Johnson and Dallis grass are more likely. Also, cotton bolls are spiky, but the plant isn't. Cotton and okra are kin, tho okra grows a whole lot taller. And I never could grow mums til the panhandle. So just where is this town???

I swore I wouldn't whine about the Texas-ness of this, but I still can't tell where in the state this town is. If it's west enough that a cedar would be the only tree available by a parking lot, it's not sultry. Also, I defy you to tie a cow (or horse or dog) to one and get it to stay. Can probly be done, but by a drunk?
