Why are people obsessed with this series? It’s cringy, the bully trope is unappealing, and Darcy’s lack of any kind of backbone is annoying. Please explain.

I've attempted to read this series about 5x now. I cant get passed the terrible writing. Even people who love this series, say it's terrible.
