The Duke and Duchess devise ploys so that Don Quixote can enact his knightly duties. Sancho's got to whip himself three thousand three hundred times to supposedly disenchant Dulcinea, poor bastard.

We meet Don Diego's son, who's a poet, and there is some good poetry and wisdom in this section. Don Quixote and Sancho meet a few people and they accompany them to a wedding taking place in spite of an ongoing love triangle. Basilio (the poor but skilled man) very slyly gets his way. Don Quixote does some things to win some respect and now he's lowered himself into a cave and supposedly he's seen some shit

New character: Don Diego de Miranda. Sancho forgets some curds inside the Don's helmet, Don Quixote thinks that his brains melted lol. Don Quixote recklessly attempts to do battle with a lion, the lion doesn't come out of it's cage so Don Quixote wins by default. I laughed my ass off at this section.

Don Quixote and Sancho are back at it again, gallivanting across Spain in search of adventures with some noticeable development in their characters. I'm pretty sure this is where the Don wins his first fight against a real adversary.
