It was in a way a comforting idea; if there was all the time in the world, then the happenings of a given moment became less important.

“A joke, reckon,” he said. “A nasty one, but only a joke.” He raised himself on one elbow and blew out the candle. “Come here, mo duinne, ” he said. “I’m cold.”

We have nothing now between us, save— respect, perhaps. And I think that respect has maybe room for secrets, but not for lies.

Mixed feeling at this point. Not loving the writing. Can't get fully into this story but still intrigued.

Part 2: “Until I find out who you really are.” Seriously never read anything like this.
