I was waiting anxiously for this one, checking to make sure it was in stock at the Coles bookstore in Courtenay before racing out to snag a copy. With some remorse I saw that McNally Robinson in Winnipeg had TJ Klune coming for a book reading & signing. I would have loved to have been there for that event. I encouraged my buddy, Jeff, to go and and get my loaner copy of "The House in the Cerulean Sea" signed.

I know you liked Klune's first two Mike. Was it three for three?

I enjoyed this one quite a lot, Ron. I don't think it is as emotionally powerful as the other two, but the characters are all wonderfully imagined and realized. Much like "The House in the Cerulean Sea" I found myself smiling and chuckling at their dynamics. Nurse RATCHET was my favorite for the dialogue she provided. When her acronym was explained in the book I couldn't think of anything more perfect.
It doesn't make the "short list" for me but it was a wonderful and satisfying read that I had no regrets spending my money on. Just wish I could have been in Winnipeg to see Klune in person to get my books signed.
