This is a fun book so far but I am going to read it on Kindle from here. I have been listening to the audiobook on Hoopla and I hate to say it but Leslie Howard’s voicing of McFadden’s female characters is wrecking these books for me. First Ward D and now The Inmate—I know these have some thriller camp to them and I like them as palate cleansers, but damn I can’t take the reader’s saccharine tone.
