I really wanted to like this book. I love learning about Manchesters history and little facts about areas. However the constant derogatory comments by the author about lower classes and certain areas really grated. I rarely leave a book part read but gave up half way through after starting the chapter based around Strangeways prison that went straight away with 'jokes' about football fans and prisoners.
