i had to stop reading the book for right now because i am so angry. these husbands ARE SO SHITTY and i just hate the way they are treating their wives in such a glaringly sexist way but it was so normalized during the time this book takes place. like i almost started crying because i’m just so upset, as well as what is happening in the Black community and the way that the police do not give a flying fuck about them
