Have to say how much I love the way the author developed this slow burn.
Gil and Holden didn't take things slowly because of silly misunderstandings, but because even knowing about their mutual attraction, they decided to give Gil time to recover and decide when he's ready.

Ok, first of all, I love the fact that the author actually visited the place where the story happens and are being really careful to depict facts about Sheppard life's.
About the couple, Holden and Gil each one has their own burdens, but the way things are depicted, even with the attraction, they're getting to know each other first before trying to do anything.
