This book has the most detailed account of Box Brown's escape by package that I've ever read. I didn't know how many times his box was inverted & otherwise tossed around on his journey. I'd also seen some comment on how he never looked for his family, but Warmth of Other Suns does a pretty good job of showing that he probably believed them gone & beyond looking for.

enjoyed the image on pg 190 of Pullman workers throwing bundles of the Chicago Defender off the moving southbound trains at secret dead drop points for distribution in the south.
