I want to write a story. The main character is a middle-aged man. He is either married or divorced. He is somewhat unhappy. Everybody else around him is more colorful than he is. This is in no way a reflection of myself. Mid-way through the story will be the best sentence you’ve ever read. I’m John Updike.
